System audio and your mic, synced
Flip on system audio and pick a microphone from a live level meter — both land in the same file, no separate tracks to line up afterward.
A camera bubble that can take over the frame
Your webcam floats as a draggable circle over the recording. Click it once and it expands to fill the whole region for a call-style close-up, click again and it shrinks back.
Live annotations while you record
Arrow, circle, square and spotlight tools sit in a small palette next to the region — draw directly into the video as you talk. The palette itself never shows up in the recording.
Up to 4K at 60 fps
Cap the output at 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K, and pick a frame rate from 15 to 60 fps depending on what the recording is for.
MP4 for video, a real GIF mode for the rest

Built-in tool vs. Sowiks
macOS already has a screen recorder — Cmd+Shift+5, or QuickTime Player's New Screen Recording. It's free, it's already installed, and for a quick recording with no audio it's genuinely enough.
Where it runs out: capturing system audio takes digging into an Options menu and only covers the microphone by default, there's no way to record your camera over the screen, nothing lets you annotate while you record, and every file lands in Finder as a video you then have to send some other way. Sowiks starts where that stops — system audio is one toggle, the camera bubble and live annotations are built in, and every recording ends as a link instead of a file waiting to be uploaded somewhere.
